Nice owner. I woke him from his nap in a hammock but he was happy to meet me serve some delicious tea (and an amazing rice cracker). During the time we used the translators to talk about many subjects. The entrance is a little hard to find but you wont be disappointed :)

This place is magical, seems taken straight out of a fable. Is quite hidden and the entrance is on the side road, with a small black gate. Is a beautiful small cafe with lots of Hakone history and memorabilia, the owner is very nice and prepare hand grinded coffee that is also very good. Highly recommended!

Came here during a trip through Hakone on a rainy and very windy day. We were instantly offered a seat in this warm and cozy house, after being greeted by the owner. Delicious tea and cake with an amazing view. Beautiful interior with lots of personal history. Owner is very happy to talk and it was so much fun to do! Thanks for the amazing service!

Very great owner and really cool place to step into. We didn't speak any Japanese and he did his best to entertain and accommodate us as much as he could. If you're looking for an off the beaten path great experience, (for American tourists like ourselves) I would definitely stop in for some cake and coffee

I liked this cafe so much that I went twice on my trip to Hakone! The cake, coffee and mountain herb tea are very delicious, and you can tell they were made with care. The owner is very kind, sharing stories about the area and chatting with me despite us having to use Google translate. The atmosphere feels like a cozy log cabin tucked in the woods, and you can see birds and even a tanuki if you are lucky in the garden. A wonderful, relaxing and comfy place, highky recommend visiting!
